House construction - Villa Tara (90250)

The MDF panel construction kit for the "Villa Tara"

The MDF panel construction kit (90250) contains all the wood blanks for walls, floors, and roof sections made from MDF material (medium density fiberboard) for building the "Villa Tara". The panels already include all sections for windows, doors, and stairs for the associated building elements set (90220). In addition, all the grooves for the walls and for the separately available cable ducts (22220) have already been milled into the MDF panels. This means no more sawing is required!

The panels only need to be glued into the designated grooves, so no nails or screws are needed either.

With the extensively illustrated manual and the expander (= rubber cord) included with the kit, it's also as easy as pie to construct the "Villa Tara" alone and without a "helping hand":

Hints, tips and tricks

The balcony

The full-length balcony is part of the Villa Tara's MDF panel kit, which can be attached as an option. The balcony railing (2 x 70320 or in white 70321), the railing end posts (1 x 70210 or in white 70215), the balcony corner pillars (#70300) and the white roof gable with the "Mini Mundus crown" (special design) are not included in the scope of delivery.

Roof shingles or roof tiles? And if yes, how many?

The roof can optionally be laid with the easily mounted roof shingles (70050 and 70055) or with roof tiles (70040 and 70045), which are not included in the building element set, whereby the cutting of the tiles is somewhat more complicated. A sharp-edged side cutter or our precision saw (44100) is recommended for this.

we additionally recommend the narrow roof shingles (70020), of which you will need 25 pieces for each dormer, or the usage of 20 roof tiles (70040/45) per dormer for the roof dormers shown in the picture. You can optionally cover the roof and roof dormers with "roof cardboard" (= rough sandpaper).

Number of roof shingles:    1,000 pieces +  25 narrow roof shingles per roof dormer

Number of roof tiles:    900 pieces +  20 pieces per roof dormer

Strips for covering the visible front and roof edges of the MDF panels

The strip #70591, which can be additionally orderedin the 10-piece package under Item No. #70590, is required for paneling (covering) the visible front edges of the MDF panels.

3 strips #70591 are additionally required for the front edges on the roof.

Strips for the interior construction

We recommend our ceiling and floor panels specially designed for building miniature houses for the interior construction. You will need the following quantities for constructing all of the rooms:

1 x Item No. 70510 - Floor panels (10- piece package)

1 x Item No. 70530 - Ceiling-Corner panels (10 piece package)

To prevent the panels from bluntly hitting each other, we recommend a section of the floor and ceiling panels "on a miter". You will achieve the best results here with our precision saw which, with its 21 teeth per centimeter, guarantees a particularly clean cut. The precision saw is supplied with a compatible aluminum miter box , which enables precision work:

1 x Item No. 44100 - Precision saw with miter box

Note:

The construction elements required for finishing the "Villa Tara" are contained in building elements set item no. 90220

Small and fine detail:
MDF (medium density fiberboard) panels consists of fine natural wooden fibers and adhesive resin which are compressed to form a homogeneous, hard board material. MDF has an extremely smooth surface, doesn't chip and is absolutely dimensionally stable. We selected MDF for our house construction kits and our module box because it is better to work than natural wood panels, allowing essentially better precision with respect to the grooves and sections.
